Good morning and happy Monday 💛 

So, feelings. They can be good, they can make you feel bad. But they aren’t necessarily bad. It’s great to have feelings. It would suck to be numb, and if that’s how you feel I’m sorry. But it can change. If you feel numb to emotion, feeling, or compinstagramion it can change. It just takes time and effort. Often times numbness comes when you’ve been holding in all your emotions for too long. When you pack it all in on the inside and never let it out. Which is why you need to talk about your feelings. Speak up for your own health.

“It’s not the type of problems a person has—but the type of person who has those types of problems.” I stumbled upon this line in one of my texts, and it resonated for a myriad of reasons. 
1. I see this theory animated in my own life. The universe is not whaling me in the face with reasons to be an overwhelmed pleaser. I am not a victim. I’m simple a person with a propensity to be an overwhelmed people pleaser. 
2. With this recognition. I recognize that I contribute to the manufacturing of my own problems. 
3. I will not prosecute myself for being this type of person. I will simply recognize that there is a common theme to my struggles, and I am the common denominator. 
4. With this self-awareness I will work to dismantle the pervasive tendency to generate these types of challenges by learning to minimize how many pursuits I take on at once,and accept that it is not my job to ensure that everyone is pleased with me (goodness, I wish they were though ☺️😂). 
5. I think the saying is, “god only gives us problems we can handle.” On some level, we must recognize this to be true, and play our part in co-creating problems we can handle. Does this keep life amusing, or what? 
6. This reminds me of an old proverb, “if we all placed our problems in a pile, and saw everyone else’s, we’d retrieve our own.” 
7. This might sounds nutty, but problems aren’t all bad. Problems teach us empathy and lessons, they show us how to be vulnerable, and how to find solutions.
8. Finally, there are challenges that may seem insurmountable and completely out of our hands—in those instagrames it’s not the problem itself, but how we perceive and respond to the difficulty that is our to own.
9. And one more thing...I think I’ve wrapped my head around the theory. It doesn’t mean my execution is spot on. That’s the thing with theories...they’re so often clean on paper and messy in practice. That’s okay 😊.
